state.  His preferred species is muskie with his big fish in
2009 being a 51 incher!

Lakes Fished for Muskies
  • White Bear Lake
  • Bald Eagle Lake
  • French Lake
White Bear and Bald Eagle lakes are 1 1/2 hours North of
Rochester, MN.  French Lake is 45 min- 1hour West of
Rochester, MN

Muskies in the 40-45 inch range can be common on
these lakes, and all three of these lakes can offer a good
chance at taking a 50 inch+ muskie.

Rod / Reel Setups
  • St. Croix and G. Loomis Muskie series rods.  7-8ft
    lengths, moderate action for large soft plastics, and
    fast action for bucktails, jerkbaits, and topwater.
    Medium heavy power for most lures, and Xheavy
    for large jerk baits.
  • Reels are all Shimano Calcutta TE400's
  • 80-100lb braided Tuf-Line XP, and 100lb striaght
    wire leaders.
